Das Künstlerbuch Tasteless von Barbara Philipp entwickelte sich im Rahmen des Publication Project des Dutch Art Institute (www.dutchartinstitute.nl) und des Werkplaats Typographie in Arnhem, beides Masterprogramme des Artez Institute of Arts. Die teilnehmende Künstler wurden ein Jahr lang begleitet, die Realisierung ihres Künstlerbuches von der Künstlerin und Kuratorin Delphine Bedel redigiert. Die sechzehn verschiedene Bücher wurden in Casco (Utrecht), in der Kunstbuchhandlung Shashin (Amsterdam) 2009 und auf diversen Kunstmessen präsentiert. Von einem differenzierten Blickwinkel aus bearbeitete die Künstlerin Barbara Philipp dasselbe Material von Tasteless neu und präsentiert dieses Buch nun am 18.Januar im Goetheinstitut Amsterdam. Diese Künstleredition von Tasteless ist in limitierter Stückzahl erschienen. Der Inhalt des Buches setzt sich mit dem Thema Fett auseinander, der Bogen spannt sich vom Fett als Geschmacksträger bis zu fettigen Sprüchen, die im Sprachgebrauch oft als derb konnotiert werden. Fett in seiner negativen wie positiven Verwendung ist der Ausgangspunkt dieser künstlerischen Stellungnahme.
Durch die einmalige Zusammenarbeit mit der Choreographin Ina Stockem (www.peopleonthemove.com) wird dem Publikum der körperliche Bezug des Inhalts an diesem Präsentationsabend näher gebracht. Alles dreht sich ums Fett!

The book Tasteless by Barbara Philipp was developed in the frame of thePublications Project and produced by the Dutch Art Institute (www.dutchartinstitute.nl) in collaboration with Werkplaats Typographie in Arnhem, both master programs of the ArtEZ Institute of Arts. During a year the participating artists were supervised and accompanied to realize their publications by the artist and curator Delphine Bedel. In 2009 the sixteen different books were presented at Casco (Utrecht), at the art bookshop Shashin in Amsterdam, as well as at several art book fairs.
Using the same material but with a different approach, the artist Barbara Philipp, produced a new limited artist edition of Tastelss, that will be presented at the Goethe- Institut in Amsterdam. The book talks about fat as flavor carrier, used also in ribald sayings. Fat used in its positive and negative connotations forms the basis of this artistic statement. Through a unique collaboration with the choreographer Ina Stockem (www.peopleonthemove.com) the physical aspects of the content will be explored at this evening presentation.
The fat is in the fire: everything revolves around fat!
