COOKING WITH JOHN(S), the food show that looks for difference in the familiar. Each week: a new episode, a new John. And on today’s show we will be taking a look at the entire process of an act of a takeaway home delivery.

COOKING WITH JOHN(S) is the third project in CONGLOMERATE's 2017 program in which guest artists are invited to collaborate on the development, building and filming of a new television show. The "TV Sets" are later open to the public as exhibitions.

Made in Decision

26 transparent plastic sheets are melted and draped over moulds. Placed under vacuum all the letters of the modern English alphabet are sucked in.

Chomped into an unmistakably synthetic indissoluble host, by an unmistakably synthetic indissoluble host, each letter is stringed from the ceiling with chewing gum.

Circulating projectors shift matter into virile palettes.

KUNST_KONTROVERS. KUNST UND POLITIK
Mittwoch, 20. September 2017, 19.30 Uhr

Kunstsalon - Ein Gespräch mit:
Manaf Halbouni -

Was kann politisch motivierte Kunst gesellschaftlich bewirken?

SaisonstART 2017: Thomas Bayrle, Bernhard Schreiner - WARP WEFT

SaisonstART 2017 - Thomas Bayrle, Bernhard Schreiner: WARP WEFT

16 September 2017

12 am - 6 pm: Sound installation
15:30 Uhr: Artist Talk with Thomas Bayrle, Bernhard Schreiner and Julian Rohrhuber
"I put my ear to the engine block and actually heard the delicate, little voices of women singing somewhere deep in the transmission." - Thomas Bayrle

Bonner Kunstverein warmly invites you to attend a special event as part of the programme for SaisonstArt Bonn.

In advance of our next exhibition 'The Policeman's Beard is Half Constructed' artists Thomas Bayrle and Bernhard Schreiner will speak on their collaboration for the record 'WARP WEFT'. Their recording, which features the sound of an industrial Jacquard-loom, the first machine to be programmed algorithmically with a binary code, will echo through the Kunstverein's foyer space for one day.

The full programme for SaisonstART can be found here: http://www.saisonstart-bonn.de/2017.html For more details of our forthcoming exhibition see:

The event has been developed in collaboration with Volker Zander and is supported by Musikfonds.

Opening: Thursday, September 14, 2017 / 7 pm

Goethe Institut Paris
17 avenue d'Iéna
75116 Paris
France
The Goethe-Institut in Paris together with the production and exhibition platform basis e.V. Frankfurt is hosting a group show entitled “basis.aperçu”. A selection of works by Viola Bittl, Lena Ditlmann, Lilly Lulay, Erika Landström, Simon Speiser, Yuki Kishino, Margarethe Kollmer and Hannes Seidl is on view from September 15 to October 29, 2017. The opening is on September 14, 2017 at 7 pm.
The “basis.aperçu” exhibition seeks to offer insights into the diverse positions represented by the artists who work in the basis studios. The group exhibition will feature selected pieces by young and highly promising artists, whose works are characterized by great rigor and quality. The exhibition will include paintings and drawings, 3D objects and filmic and text-based media, thus offering insights not only into art production in Frankfurt but also on how these artists address current artistic discourses.
The exhibition will take place in the Goethe Institut premises in Paris.

Nuit Blanche at the Goethe-Institut as part of the basis.aperçu exhibition

October 7, 2017 from 8 pm

On the occasion of this year’s Nuit Blanche in Paris, Goethe-Institut and basis e.V. will be presenting performances and installations by Frankfurt artists as part of the "basis.aperçu" exhibition. The annual cultural festival has chosen “Faire oeuvre commune” – “Do things Together” as its motto. The artists selected – Levent Kunt, Hannes Seidl and choreography duo Billinger & Schulz – will present works specially made or adapted for the Nuit Blanche in which they reflect on site-specific aspects and impressions of city life in Paris.
