Perlstein
new book by Michael Riedel

26,6cm x 26,6cm, 324 p., in german / engl. / french language, Edition 500, Koenig Books London, 2011

Perlstein is the next in a series of publications* by Michael Riedel consisting of image and sound recordings, the latter in the form of transcribed texts that he has released to accompany his exhibitions.
The text “Publikation” is the recording of a talk titled “8 Kunst & Publikation” which was held between 2009 and 2011 on numerous different occasions. From the paper bag which Riedel wore on his head at a talk in 1997 up to his most recent catalogue “The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog” the talk provides a broad overview of almost all publications Riedel has published to date. The illustrations are screen shots which were taken during a PowerPoint presentation during the intervals when slides changed. The choice of the transitions took place automatically (random).
