Exhibition Preview: Saturday 6 August, 7pm - 9pm

Sierra Metro is pleased to present new work by Peles Empire as part of the Edinburgh Art Festival 2011.

Peles Empire is a collaborative work by London-based German artists Katharina Stoever and Barbara Wolff. Founded in Frankfurt in 2005, their work takes as its source material Peles, a Romanian castle built between 1873 and 1913.

In a continued working process, Wolff and Stoever have reproduced nine different rooms from this castle, wallpapering galleries in London, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Basel, Los Angeles and Cluj with A3 colour copies of photographs of its lavish rooms.

For the exhibition at Sierra Metro, Wolff and Stoever challenge the existing tenets of their project and explore a move from predominantly two-dimensional work into the realm of sculpture.

Please join Sierra Metro for the exhibition preview on Saturday 6 August, 7pm-9pm, followed by music and visuals from Randan Discotheque, Clubsoda and VJ Emlyn Firth, 9pm-11pm.
