Myths, dreams, reality and virtual reality have been consistent themes for Young Joo Lee’s artistic practice. Interpretations of personal experiences, general history, scientific theories, psychology articles form narrative structures. These are told once again in visual and auditory language, such as video, performance and drawing.
Her talk will be held at the end of the artist residency in Incheon Art Platform, where she worked on her current projects. Young Joo Lee graduated from Städelschule (Film) in Frankfurt am Main and before she got her BFA in Painting at Hongik University in Seoul. She has shown her works internationally for the last five years, such as HAU Berlin, Curitiba Biennial, Opelvillen, Atelier Frankfurt and Kunsthaus Bregenz.
